WEDDING STORY 01

A Wedding at
a Hot Spring Ryokan

An overnight wedding story in Ikaho Onsen

OUR STORY

From arrival to the next morning,
your wedding becomes a journey.

Here is one way to spend an overnight wedding at Nagomigokoro no Yado Omori: shiromuku (a traditional white bridal kimono) in a tatami room, a vibrant iro-uchikake (a richly embroidered bridal over-robe), a change into a wedding dress, photos in the hot spring town, a kaiseki dinner, then the hot springs and breakfast the next morning. Picture an unhurried celebration with your family and closest friends.

*This is a sample itinerary. Photos are for illustrative purposes; the actual ceremony, photography and locations are arranged with you to suit your wishes and conditions on the day.

Arriving in Ikaho

Your day begins at an inn on the hill above Ikaho's stone steps. The moment you step through the noren curtain, your celebration begins, welcomed by a ryokan with a century of history.

Your Vows

Exchange your vows, the bride in shiromuku and the groom in montsuki haori and hakama, traditional formal attire for the groom. We will suggest a ceremony style that suits you, such as a non-religious ceremony. Sharing sake from lacquered cups is a moment worth keeping in photos.

Photos in Iro-uchikake

From shiromuku to a vibrant iro-uchikake. The inn's Japanese-modern spaces of wood and stone make the colors of kimono stand out. Take your time with photos of the two of you, and of the bride alone.
